Dr. Emily Falk was born and raised as a Buckeye in Grandview Heights, Ohio! During her undergraduate studies of biology and psychology, Dr. Emily paved a path for a career that would help both pets and people in veterinary medicine. She earned her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2014. She worked at a busy veterinary hospital in Raleigh, NC, and has made her way back to the Buckeye State to join the team at Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills. She is excited to grow with a veterinary hospital that shares her core values and commitment to helping pets and their people.

Working as a veterinarian melds all of Dr. Emily’s passions in life – love and compassion for living things, endless opportunity to learn and grow, challenging science and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people and animals. Her long term goals are to grow in alternative therapies including acupuncture, massage therapy and physical rehabilitation. Dr. Emily has worked diligently to become certified in acupuncture through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. We are very excited as she begins offering acupuncture therapy to patients in 2019!

Dr. Emily refuels by spending time outdoors – especially horseback riding with her own Percheron thoroughbred horse named Cal. Her furry family includes a loveable mixed-breed dog Griz and frisky feline Ari. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling and painting. Dr. Emily looks forward to spending quality time with AHSH clients and teaching them about their pet’s health so they understand how to make their best friend as healthy and happy as possible. Go Bucks!
