Veterinary Assistant, Inventory Manager
This outdoorsy girl from Brooklyn, NY, oozes with love for each and every pet that walks through our doors! Erin has lived around the world, including Hong Kong and Germany. She grew up in Worthington, OH, spent some time in Wyoming, traveled out of the country, andfinally settled down in Powell, OH with her beautiful daughter Hayden Bell and fiance Tommy. They share their home with energetic rescue pup Wesley, and three loveable kitties – Thome, Archie and Eddie.
When Erin is not holding down the fort at home, she enjoys spending time outdoors, which includes adventures on four wheelers, camping and hiking! Her ideal vacation is relaxing on the beach or at their family lakehouse with friends and family. She also enjoys a good game of basketball or volleyball and finds it necessary to practice yoga to maintain a balanced life. Most importantly, she loves to spend time with Hayden and exploring what adventures life has to offer them
.Growing up surrounded by cats and dogs, Erin developed an resilient passion for working with animals. Since the day she began talking, she declared she would work for a Vet someday! During high school, she completed internships at two veterinary hospitals which further confirmed her desire to work in the veterinary field. We first met Erin at AHSH when she started her internship here as a requirement of the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. In winter 2014, we were excited to have Erin join the AHSH team as a full-time veterinary assistant! Erin’s long-term goals in the veterinary field are to become a registered Veterinary Technician, with a focus on homing orphaned animals and joining forces with animal lovers to put a stop to animal abuse.
Erin looks forward to getting to know all AHSH clients and their pets on a first-name basis. She strives to establish a bond of complete trust for each and every patient she encounters. Erin believes in taking every step and making every effort for pets to be comfortable coming to the veterinary office, no matter how long it takes. Her goal aligns with the AHSH patient care goal – to make sure that every client not only knows, but also sees in action that we are here to do everything in the best interest of their pet. Erin considers her own pets to be one with her family and feels that each client and patient should also be treated like family. She draws from her knowledge having worked in an animal shelter where she was able to build a special bond with each animal – taking care of them like they were her own.
We are truly blessed to have such a self-less, compassionate veterinary assistant on our team. Erin understands that it takes true passion, patience and dedication to have a successful career in the veterinary field. She truly understand the fact that pets cannot verbally express how they are feeling and celebrates the fact that it is her duty to help them communicate their needs to the veterinarian. One appointment with Erin as your veterinary assistant and you will see that she stands as a uniting force in AHSH and aims to build a relationship with you and your pet in order to keep them as healthy as possible for years to come!
