Molly’s passion for caring for animals shines at the Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills. She always spends extra time caring for fur babies during their veterinary visits as she has a passion for fear-free veterinary medicine, putting the “treat” into “treatment”! Molly earned her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license through Columbus State Community College (graduated spring 2017). How did we get so lucky as to cross paths with this talented, compassionate individual? Molly accepted a job as an animal caretaker and grooming assistant at AHSH in 2015 with the goal of obtaining more hands-on experience with animals before beginning her career as a registered veterinary technician. We’re happy to welcome Molly back to AHSH as she continues in her career as an RVT. Coming from many years of family horse-barn experience, Molly has a dedicated work ethic that is rare to find. Her learning curve was very short and she has since trained many employees in both animal care, grooming assisting and veterinary assisting.
She comes from a family with three siblings: one older sister, one younger sister and one younger brother. She attributes her work ethic and passion for helping animals to her upbringing on the family farm in Ashland, OH. She cared for six horses, Monty the mixed breed dog and several farm kitties. Molly’s family began rescuing animals when she was young and to see these fur babies put all their faith in humans made her want to protect them forever! Her Aunt and Uncle are veterinarians in Ashland so she was exposed to the veterinary field at a very young age. Having the career goal of working as a registered veterinary technician is as close to achieving her dream as a child of rescuing every animal that needs it. She will be lending a hand in helping as many animals as possible.
Molly is an accomplished graduate from Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in environmental studies. She currently resides in Delaware with her police officer fiancé, Dave, two rescue kitties Milo & Sir Lancelot, and rescue pups Angel and Arlo! Milo spent several months in recovery after he was nearing death’s door. He is now spoiled rotten in his luxurious Delaware castle with cat-mate Lancey. When Molly is not entertaining her fur babies or working hard at the hospital, she enjoys reading, running in races for charities and gardening. She finds working part-time at a horse barn as a great stress reliever and has taken an interest in essential oils and floating (salt tank sensory deprivation).
Molly loves small towns so AHSH appealed to her more than many other hospitals she considered. She loves getting to know clients, their pets, and their stories! AHSH has been an excellent place to officially begin her career in the veterinary field. Her pets have helped her through the tough times in school, work and life – she is excited to be able to learn more to be able to help them, and others, to live the long and happy lives they deserve!
