Meet Archie (aka Potato or Mr. Spicy) a 6-year old Welsh Corgi who we’ve had the pleasure of caring for since he was a puppy! Archie, like many pets, does not particularly enjoy his trips to the vet - but after a recent bout of vomiting and lethargy turned out to be a tooth root abscess, he handled his dental surgery like a champ!
"Archie is a very special corgi. He is incredibly smart yet completely obstinate at the same time. He is the master of the house and keeps everyone on a tight schedule for feeding, walking, and especially bedtime. He gets frustrated if we try to stay up late and puts himself to bed.
Archie loves to spend time outside walking the neighborhood but especially visiting with his doggo friends - Chibi the Shiba Inu, Everest the Aussie Doodle, Kona the golden retriever and Kramer the Frenchie. Archie loves playing with his friends and laying in the grass.
Archie’s dad had been trying to train him to shake for the last few months. He is still only willing to lean sideways so dad can shake but still refuses to lift his paw. He then eye rolls and waits quietly for a reward treat from the bone jar.
Archie, who had been dealing with episodes of vomiting before the tooth abscess was realized has been doing amazing post extraction. His care has been amazing. Despite his often spicy attitude-this office has been able to treat and care for Archie."

Just like people, pets can suffer from seasonal allergies, especially in the fall. Ragweed, mold spores, and dust mites are common culprits this time of year and can lead to itching, inflamed skin, ear infections, watery eyes, and sneezing.
The good news? There are effective treatments to help your pet feel better. From allergy testing to prescription treatments and soothing skin sprays, our team can create a customized plan to keep your pet feeling their best.
Common treatment options that many dogs respond well to:
- Apoquel - a daily tablet which helps decrease itching and inflammation
- Cytopoint - a long-lasting injection that can neutralize itch signals for 4-8 weeks
- Allergy testing & immunotherapy – for trickier cases, we can send out bloodwork to identify specific allergens and create custom allergy shots just for your pet
Allergy season doesn’t have to mean misery for your pet; relief is possible. If your pup seems more uncomfortable than usual, give us a call - we can help!

“My pet seems fine after 2 weeks of treatment for an ear infection. Do I really need to bring her back in?”
YES! Ear infections can be tricky. Even if your pet seems better, the infection might still be lingering beneath the surface. A recheck exam allows us to take an ear swab and look at it under the microscope, to confirm whether the infection has fully cleared, or if a few more days of treatment is necessary.
Without this follow-up, there's a risk that the infection could return, potentially becoming more severe or resistant to treatment. So, don't skip that follow-up visit! It's a small step that can make a big difference in your pet’s well-being.

PUMPKIN: Not just for lattes & fall decor
Did you know that canned pumpkin can help both diarrhea and constipation? That’s because it’s loaded with soluble fiber, which adds bulk to loose stools while also softening hard ones—basically, pumpkin helps get things moving just right. It’s also gentle on sensitive stomachs, low in calories, and full of vitamins and antioxidants to keep your pet feeling their best!
(Be sure to use 100% canned pumpkin - NOT pumpkin pie filling)
